We Train Computer Support Specialists and Systems Administrators
The explosion of computer use has created a high demand for specialists to provide advice to users, as well as day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of computer systems and networks. We provide students the training and certifications necessary to fill the ever-growing need for skilled professionals within the computer industry.
The CIT is an Information Technology training facility serving Northern California and offers a variety of professional certification classes at reasonable community college prices.
Butte College is working hard to bring quality technical education into our community. Together we will meet the needs both of employers and employees by providing technical training and preparation for today’s job market in computer software, hardware, operating systems and networks.
Our certification program is industry driven and is designed to meet the needs of the marketplace. The program is routinely monitored with input concerning employer needs being provided by our highly qualified council of industry professionals.

We have courses designed to achieve globally recognized industry certifications including CompTIA’s A+, Network+, and Security +, Cisco’s CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and Microsoft’s highly coveted MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certifications.
At the CIT we offer our students both classroom and hands-on training as well as the convenience of an on-site testing facility. Students taking their certification tests through the program also benefit from a substantial discount off select testing fees (see the Appendix for more information on fees and scheduling tests).
